Sourdough Skillet Brownies

Ingredients

For the batter:

  • ½ cup sourdough discard
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Optional add-ins:

  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

1. Preheat & Prep

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease a cast iron skillet or small baking pan.


2. Melt Butter

Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.


3. Mix Wet Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar.
Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sourdough discard. Mix until smooth.


4. Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
