Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sourdough discard
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2–4 tbsp warm water (as needed)
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe
1. Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sourdough discard, and oil.
Gradually add warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead
Knead the dough for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. Rest the Dough
Cover and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. This makes rolling easier.
4. Divide & Shape
Divide into small balls (about golf-ball size).
Roll each ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
5. Cook the Tortillas
Heat a dry pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook each tortilla for 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and light brown spots appear.
6. Keep Warm
Stack cooked tortillas and cover with a cloth to keep them soft.
7. Serve
Use for wraps, tacos, or sandwiches.
😋 Tips
- Roll them thin for soft tortillas
- Don’t overcook or they’ll become crispy
- Add herbs or garlic powder for extra flavor
