For the Bread Pudding
- 4 cups sourdough bread (cubed)
- 2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon

- ½ cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)

- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Step-by-Step Recipe
1. Prepare the Bread
Cut sourdough bread into small cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.
2. Make the Custard
In a bowl whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
3. Combine
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes.
Add raisins or chocolate chips if desired.
4. Soak the Bread
Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes so the bread absorbs the custard.
5. Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
6. Make the Sauce (Optional)
In a small pan heat cream, butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
7. Serve
Drizzle the warm sauce over the pudding and serve warm.
