Ingredients
For the Dough
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2¼ tsp instant yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup melted butter
- ½ tsp salt
For the Cinnamon Filling
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup soft butter
For Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Step-by-Step Recipe
1. Activate the Yeast
In a bowl mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar.
Leave for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Make the Dough
Add egg, melted butter, flour, and salt.
Mix until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead the Dough
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. First Rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
5. Roll the Dough
Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
6. Add Filling
Spread soft butter on the dough.
Mix brown sugar + cinnamon and sprinkle evenly.
7. Roll & Cut
Roll tightly into a log and cut into 9–12 rolls.
8. Second Rise
Place rolls in a baking tray and let them rise 30–40 minutes.
9. Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
10. Add Frosting
Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Spread on warm rolls.
