🛒 Ingredients
- 2 lbs ribeye steak, cooked and finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup butter (separated)
- 2 green bell peppers, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 10 slices provolone cheese, cut into small pieces
- 1–2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- 16 egg roll wrappers
👩🍳 Instructions
🔹 Marinate the Steak
Season the ribeye with garlic salt and pepper. Place it in a large zip-top bag and pour in the Worcestershire sauce. Seal and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavor.
🔹 Sear the Steak
In a large cast iron skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Remove the steak from the marinade and place it into the hot skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes per side until nicely seared.
Transfer the steak to a foil-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
🔹 Cook the Vegetables
In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the chopped bell peppers and onions. Sauté until the onions turn soft and translucent and the peppers are tender. Remove from heat.
🔹 Combine the Filling
Chop the cooked steak into small bite-sized pieces. Return it to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables and stir well.
Add the diced provolone cheese and mix until evenly combined and slightly melted.
🥟 Assembling the Egg Rolls
Lay one egg roll wrapper diagonally on a clean surface. Lightly brush the edges with water.
Spoon 2 heaping tablespoons of the steak mixture into the center.
Fold both side corners inward over the filling.
Next, fold the bottom corner up over the mixture.
Roll tightly toward the top corner to seal completely.
Repeat until all the filling is used.
🔥 Frying
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully place a few egg rolls at a time into the hot oil. Fry until golden and crispy on all sides.
Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Continue until all egg rolls are cooked.
