- 1 small head of cabbage (shredded)
- 1 lb chicken, beef, or shrimp (cut into bite-size pieces)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Ingredients
Shred the cabbage, cut protein into bite-size pieces, and mince garlic and ginger.
Step 2: Cook the Protein
Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add your protein and cook until browned and cooked through (chicken/beef ~5–7 minutes, shrimp ~3–4 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Sauté Aromatics
In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4: Stir Fry the Cabbage
Add shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until it’s slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 5: Add Sauce & Protein
Return the cooked protein to the pan. Add soy sauce (or coconut aminos), chili flakes, and black pepper. Toss everything together for 2–3 minutes so flavors combine.
Step 6: Garnish & Serve
Top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
