Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
  • 2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite melting cheese)
  • 1–2 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: garlic powder, herbs, or a pinch of salt

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  1. Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Optional: sprinkle a tiny pinch of garlic powder or herbs on the buttered side for extra flavor.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich

  1. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a skillet or non-stick pan.
  2. Add cheese slices on top.
  3. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.

Step 3: Cook the Grilled Cheese

  1. Heat the skillet over medium-low heat (important for melty cheese without burning bread).
  2. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  3. Flip carefully and cook the other side for 3–4 minutes.
