Sourdough Discard Flatbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
  • Optional: herbs, garlic powder, or sesame seeds for flavor

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe

1. Make the Dough

In a bowl, combine sourdough discard, olive oil, and warm water.
Gradually mix in flour and salt to form a soft dough.


2. Knead

Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and rest for 20–30 minutes.


3. Divide & Shape

Divide dough into small balls.
Roll each ball into thin rounds on a floured surface.


4. Cook Flatbreads

Heat a dry skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until golden spots appear.


5. Keep Warm

Stack cooked flatbreads and cover with a kitchen towel to keep them soft.


6. Serve

Use as wraps, dips, or with curries and salads.
