Ingredients
- 2 pounds ribeye steak, cooked and finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup butter (separated)
- 2 green bell peppers, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 10 slices provolone cheese, cut into small pieces
- 1–2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- 16 egg roll wrappers
Instructions
Prepare the Steak
- Season the ribeye steaks with garlic salt and black pepper. Place them in a large resealable plastic bag and pour in the Worcestershire sauce. Seal the bag and allow the meat to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until fully melted.
- Remove the steaks from the marinade and place them in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the steaks to a foil-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Prepare the Filling
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Sauté until the onions become translucent and the peppers are tender. Remove from heat.
- Chop the cooked steak into small bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well.
- Stir in the diced provolone cheese until evenly combined with the steak mixture.
Assembling the Egg Rolls
- Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond position. Lightly brush water along the edges.
- Spoon a generous 2 tablespoons of the steak mixture into the center.
- Fold the left and right corners inward over the filling. Then fold the bottom corner up over the mixture and roll tightly toward the top corner to seal.
- Repeat the process until all the filling is used.
Frying
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place a few egg rolls into the hot oil at a time. Fry until they turn golden brown on all sides.
- Remove the egg rolls and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Continue frying the remaining rolls.
Serve warm with your preferred dipping sauce and enjoy!
