Crispy Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ribeye steak, cooked and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup butter (separated)
  • 2 green bell peppers, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 10 slices provolone cheese, cut into small pieces
  • 1–2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 16 egg roll wrappers

Instructions

Prepare the Steak

  1. Season the ribeye steaks with garlic salt and black pepper. Place them in a large resealable plastic bag and pour in the Worcestershire sauce. Seal the bag and allow the meat to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until fully melted.
  3. Remove the steaks from the marinade and place them in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the steaks to a foil-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Prepare the Filling

  1. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Sauté until the onions become translucent and the peppers are tender. Remove from heat.
  2. Chop the cooked steak into small bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well.
  3. Stir in the diced provolone cheese until evenly combined with the steak mixture.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond position. Lightly brush water along the edges.
  2. Spoon a generous 2 tablespoons of the steak mixture into the center.
  3. Fold the left and right corners inward over the filling. Then fold the bottom corner up over the mixture and roll tightly toward the top corner to seal.
  4. Repeat the process until all the filling is used.

Frying

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully place a few egg rolls into the hot oil at a time. Fry until they turn golden brown on all sides.
  3. Remove the egg rolls and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Continue frying the remaining rolls.

Serve warm with your preferred dipping sauce and enjoy!
