Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup sourdough starter (active or discard)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Step-by-Step Recipe

1. Cream Butter and Sugar

In a bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and creamy.

2. Add Wet Ingredients

Mix in egg, sourdough starter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

3. Mix Dry Ingredients

In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt.

4. Combine the Dough

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
Mix until a soft cookie dough forms.

5. Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

6. Chill the Dough

Cover and refrigerate the dough for 30–60 minutes.
